Subject: RE: [NEISA] Uniforms
Kevin,
Good questions, I've received similar questions from other
coaches. The
definition of uniforms can be found in the new procedural rules.
Here it
is:
) Team Uniforms - All teams competing in ICSA
Intersectional and
National Championship regattas must wear lifejackets or pinnies/bibs
(clothing over lifejackets) that are of the same color and style
and denote
either the team's name, logo or mascot or a combination of those
items on
the back.
So to answer your questions:
Decalled life jackets count ONLY IF they match in color and style
and the
decal is on the back.
The UVM 'patches' would suffice ONLY IF all the life jackets
matched in
color and style.
The 'T' Tabor life jackets would suffice, provided they are all the
same
color and style - the 'T' would count as the team's name, LOGO, or
mascot.
Yes, crew and skipper have to have the same uniform.
I cannot remember your team's life jackets, but if they are all the
same
color and style and have the logo on the back, they would work.
Yes, the t-shirt/pinny (or life jacket) must denote the team's
name, logo,
or mascot.
Let me know if you have more questions. I hope these answers help
other
coaches as well.

Greg,
What is the definition of a uniform? Do decalled lifejackets
count? UVMs
patches versuses the "T" Tabor lifejackets or does the entire boat
require a
pinny/t-shirt that says the team name on it. Do both crew and
skipper have
to have the same uniform? Our team last year got black lotus
lifejackets
with the Providence Logo on the back. Is that sufficient?
Further more does the t/shirt pinny have to say the school name,
the
mascot or something else?
Thank you for your time,
-Kevin Broome
