Hello PCCSC
There is a very important update in the NOR for the regatta this weekend.
Due to a scheduling conflict we have been forced to move the operating site
of the regatta from Mission Bay Yacht Club to the Mission Bay Aquatic Centre
on Santa Clara Point in Mission Bay. Don't fear--Your NEW destination is
only one block further to the north along the same route. Instead of
turning onto El Carmel Point to go to MBYC please turn onto Santa Clara
Place (at the stoplight) and proceed to the end of the point. Following is
a new set of directions:
>From I-5 south, exit Garnet/Mission Bay Drive. Turn right onto Garnet Ave.
Bear left at the light onto Balboa Ave. Continue from Balboa onto Grand
Ave. Turn left on to Mission Bay Drive. Turn left on to Santa Clara
Point. The launching area is at the end of the street. Parking is limited
so please try and bring as few vehicles as possible. Park Trailers on the
grass above the beach.
The MBAC Address is:
1001 Santa Clara Place
Mission Beach, CA 92109
Also, there is another announcement about the regatta this weekend. In
light of the memorial and new name of the event, the Simon family has
generously donated event t-shirts which will be available to every
competitor & coach free of charge. Please pick up your shirts at the
regatta table when filling out your RP forms. Many smaller sizes are
available. Additionally, the Simon family has invited every participant
(coaches, captains etc included) to join the UCSD team at Woodcarver Pizza
on Midway Blvd for a social dinner and special video presentation. I hope
all of you will be able to attend this evening gathering and eat some good
grub together! The address follows:
Woodcarver Pizza
3225 Midway Dr
San Diego, CA 92110
(619) 222-0389
Thanks very much, and I will see you ALL at Santa Clara Point (NOT MBYC) on
Saturday Morning at 0930!
