PCCSC Team Race Conference Championship

 

US SAILING CENTER, Long Beach, CA, April 11, 2008

 

Organizing Authority: PCCSC/USC/US Sailing Center - LB, CA

 

1.            RULES 

The regatta will be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) including
Appendix D (as outlined and modified in ICSA PR 25), the ICSA Procedural
Rules, the NOR and these Sailing Instructions. Limited Umpiring using RRS D
2.3 will be used where possible. If Code Flag "U" is displayed at or before
the warning signal there will be no Umpires for that race. (This Changes RRS
Appendix D 2.2)

 

2.            NOTICES TO COMPETITORS Notices to competitors, including boat
rotations, will be available from the race committee.

 

3.            BOATS & EQUIPMENT

               CFJs will be provided for all competitors, who shall not
modify any yacht (with the exception of mainsheet purchase) or cause them to
be modified in any way. 

               The standing rigging shall not be adjusted.

               The penalty for infringing the above instructions will be
disqualification from all races sailed in contravention of these  SIs.

 

4.            ROTATIONS Boat rotations will be available upon completion of
registration.

 

5.            COMPETITOR'S MEETING AND SCHEDULE  A competitor's meeting will
be held at 10:00 a.m. at the US Sailing Center. Racing will begin as soon
after as practical. There will be no racing after Sun Set.

 


6.            RACING AREA The course will be in the turning basin adjacent
to US Sailing Center or Alamitos Bay YC.

 

7.            FORMAT   We will attempt a double round robin followed by a
single final four. If after the first round robin time is running short we
will truncate to a single round robin followed by a double final four. Other
changes to the format if necessary will be made by the Regatta Chairman with
the approval of the PCCSC President. All wins/losses will carry forward and
count for the final scores except any sail-offs or tie breakers.

 

8.            SCORING and TIES   Any ties will be resolved by using ICSA
Procedural Rules.  The records for any sail off races shall not be carried
forward after the ties have been broken.

 

9.            ENTRY AND FEES  The following schools have been declared
eligible by the PCCSC for this event: Stanford University, University of
California, Irvine, University of California, Los Angeles, University of
California, San Diego, University of California, Santa Barbara, University
of Hawaii, University of Southern California. These teams are expected to be
present at the skippers meeting at 10:00 am. Any team that is not and has
not notified the OA by Monday April 7th at 5pm will be subject to PCCSC
penalties.

 

               There will be a $15 per team Entry Fee. Fee includes boats
and sails, racing and light snacks after racing. Fee is due at the
competitors meeting.
