We are expecting 30 Colleges, 17 from outside California; nearly 60 High
School Teams (55 at this moment) from all over CA and the Pacific Northwest.
Well over 400 sailors plus coaches, parents and many others. Main website:
www.uscsailing.org (See NOR, Registered Teams, Press Releases & Scores
{Updated during Racing}).

This year we plan to sail the Gold High School and College Divisions off the
Belmont Pier. There are new docks and down ramps for rotation at the end of
the Pier, a revitalized course side restaurant/snack bar and great viewing
from the south/east wing of the pier (closed to fishing). We will therefore
move the Silver High School Division sailing to the turning basin adjacent
to ABYC. This will provide much better sailing space with the usual great
viewing, rotation and coaching from the beach and easy access to ABYC. Looks
like the weather will be warm (mid 60's) but rather light air (5-6 mph -
pray for more).

All before and after racing activities will be at ABYC. All boats will
launch and store at ABYC. Only cars towing boats for this regatta should
enter the ABYC parking lot and then only to disconnect the trailer. Please
then immediately move your car to the parking across the street (or when
full down to the 54th Street lot - See below). Also please have your team
promptly unload your trailer as we will be "dense packing the trailers" in
the lots across the street.

In addition to the parking lots across the street from ABYC we have access
to the 54th St. Parking Lot (on Ocean Blvd. at the end of Bayshore Drive)
where ABYC passes will also be accepted (FREE PARKING). We will be running a
free shuttle service (two large vans at peak times) up and down Ocean Blvd.
(8am to 6pm Sat./9am - 5pm Sun). The shuttle will stop at ABYC, US Sailing
Center (extra bathrooms, parking and other necessary support), 54th Street
Parking Lot and during the sailing hours (10:30am - 5pm) the Belmont Pier
parking lot. Parking at the Belmont Pier will be at regular rates (~$6 a day
or ~$.50 an hour).

ABYC BATHROOMS & SHOWERS ARE CLOSED FOR REMODELING. THERE IS A HIGH QUALITY
PORTABLE BATHROOM TRAILER (4 STALLS w/sinks) AVAILABLE IN THE ABYC PARKING
LOT. We will also be using the bathroom/showers between ABYC & the beach as
well as the porta-potties in the 72nd Street Parking Lot (across from ABYC).
We are turning the Quarter Deck into a "Male Changing Room" and the Junior
Room into a "Female Changing Room".

Important Items for all teams to remember (Please also read the Notice of
Race, Sailing Instructions and other documents on the website
www.uscsailing.org ) :

1. Because of the online registration you shouldn't have to wait in the
registration line(s) unless: you have open issues with registration
(payments due, pick up t-shirts, etc.); you wish to purchase additional
Saturday Night Dinner Tickets (by 10am Saturday) and/or you wish to inform
us that you will not be using all of your Saturday Night Dinners (5 per
registered team) so we don't waste food.

2. We are providing sails for ALL divisions (College, Gold HS and
Silver HS). You will pick up your sails from the ABYC patio first thing upon
arrival. We will "mark you present" when you pick up your sails so please
make sure to do this promptly upon arrival. Charter Boats for College Teams
from outside CA can be picked up by seeing the USC/USSCLB Rep. near the ABYC
launch ramp; your sails will be in your boat and you will be marked as
present when you pick up your boat. Saturday night sails should be stored in
the boat, rolled neatly and tucked safely under the center thwart. You are
responsible for the boat you bring (or charter/borrow) and the sails you use
in the 1st rotation all weekend. Rig, put away and return that boat and
those sails. You will be held responsible for this boat and sails proper
care each morning and evening.

3. Regatta Report Forms will need to be completed by all teams in all
divisions. These will be available near the registration office in the
mornings and evenings (all day for Silver Fleet) and on the pier during the
racing for the College and Gold Fleet. Please complete these as early as
possible so that we can enter the information into the scoring computers.

4. Sun Tents, and (folding) chairs are highly recommended for both the
beach (Silver Fleet) and the Pier (College & Gold Fleet). With this many
teams space on the Pier will be somewhat limited so please be courteous and
reasonable so everyone has space and access to good viewing. The South East
Wing of the Pier will be closed to fishing for our use. The Snack Bar at the
end of the Pier will be open and is crucial to our access to the Pier now
and in the future. Spectators are welcome to use the tables and chairs in
the Snack bar area for viewing but please recognize that this is a business.
Please do not bring outside food into the Snack bar Area and please
patronize the food and drink services as they have gone out of their way to
help make this possible and be ready to serve you. I think you will find the
quality of the food excellent. The ABYC Snack Bar will be open from 8am to
4pm and the ABYC Bar will be open from 4pm until events have ended.

5. Please respect the neighborhoods, beaches, pier, club property,
boats and all locals and visitors. Pick up your trash, keep your gear
organized and stored reasonably. Try not to bring too much sand on to the
club property from the beach and please drive carefully (and park legally)
as there are a lot of kids, cars, trailers, and boats!

Looking forward to a great weekend! Good luck to everyone and pray for
wind!!
