Hi, I'm maintaining LXDE/PCManFM on Tiny Core Linux (TC), www.tinycorelinux.com which is a modular, low footprint system. Main goal is to have only really necessary stuff used avoiding oversized giant softwares. LXDE is an ideal fit and used by many users.
1) gvfs is not part of the base system. Its size is the same or more than the complete system and do not add real benefits for average users. Loading it just for PCManFM is a real pain. So I would appreciate not to have gvfs just as an option when really needed. 2) What most people are asking for is volume management, more precisely automatic mounting of removable media. On TC it is available with Xfce4 with HAL, but really I do not want to go on with at all. Do not have experience with udisks, but it seems to be usable now, so it is welcome. 3) Tree view is nice to have, but not a real must 4) Personally I do not use file search. There are many alternatives. As an old fashioned developer, I'm using alway MC for such stuff :) Regards...
