The whole idea to show total selection data in status bar is not
correct, I'm sorry. Just try to select 100000 files and then delete them.
Yes, it will take a minute to complete currently. But with that info in
the status bar it will take few days or even few weeks. Surprised? I will
not. The status bar will be updated after each file deleted and each such
update will take almost a second (since your approach will require a lot
of memory allocations and freeings - at least one for each selected file
and even more). It is inappropriate for the lightweight file manager so I
have not choise but refuse that instead of commit it. I'm sorry.
