There have been many releases since then; the current release is 7.9 and there is a new release 8.00 in "final testing" - I hope to release it next week. Lots of bugs have been fixed since Feb 2006. Please test with the latest version. As you have not specified what the invalid regular expression is, I cannot test it for myself.
