I'm afraid I have no idea what this might be. My automake is 1.16 and it
probably was that when I created the 8.43 tarball back last February. Nobody
else has complained about this; note also that PCRE 8.xx versions are
obsolescent and only really serious bugs are perhaps going to be looked at.
PCRE2 (the current 10.xx series) has been around for 4.5 years now. That is why
I'm closing this as WONTFIX.
