This is a very old bug, but I have now squashed it, in time to catch the 10.34
release, which will come out once some other issues are sorted. Thanks for the
report. (Detail: if the first char in a caseless pattern was in an assertion,
was non-ASCII, and its other case started with a different code unit, matching
failed unless starting optimizations were turned off.)
