They don't. Back in early 1994 when AOL allowed their members to join the
Internet, there was such an uproar from the "old" 'net community that a Usenet
newsgroup was started and dedicated to all the "bozos" from AOL.

Actually, there was an alternate name for AOL -- a**holes on-line
