That seems way out of line....too high and too much time.  I
use www.registerclub.com  which costs only $10 to transfer a
domain.  But you'll have to read about them as far as the
time limit to do so.  It has taken them 3 days max for
domains I've registered with them to show at whois.net
There is something you need to check on though, possibly
you'll have to STAY with Network Solutions for the transfer
and may not be able to use another service since the name
was registered with them in the first place.  Namezero.com
is like this.

Looks like you may have to login at registerclub for the
FAQ's, so I put the text below on this.

1. Transfer Registrant - Top

To transfer ownership of a domain name, you must do what is
called Transfer Registrant.
Transfer Registrant costs $10.

To perform a Transfer Registrant, YOU MUST do the following:
1. Pay $10 for a Domain Name Credit.
2. Have new owner sign up for RegisterClub.com HERE:
http://registerclub.com/accounts/index.html
3. Fax (909-888-4269) us signed authorization with all of
the following info:
Sellers Username:
Sellers Password:
The Transaction ID:
Buyers Username:
Buyers Password:
Domain Name Being Sold/Transferred:
Buyers Contact Info:
After we receive the FAX, it will take 7-10 business days to
process.
Both parties will be notified once the transfer has taken

to rush it in 48 hours, but a friend has been waiting since

this to be completed.  They have had issues between the
bureaucracy of NSI
and other accounts so they are used to goings on there but
this is going a
bit far.  Any ideas or has someone had similar experiences
too?
