Jeff, can you run windows scandisk/defrag through safe mode? Do that first
and be sure to run the complete scandisk. If it won't run there either
then your file table may have errors beyond what scandisk/disk doctor can
handle and so you should wipe the drive and reinstall. Also download the
diagnostics package from your hard drive's manufacturer as well to make
sure of the integrity of the drive too. HTH
