Hello all.
I just got a new PC with WIN98 first edition.
My daughter inherited my WIN98SE machine which is the workgroup computer.
I have a program called PPPshare that seems real easy to use and compatible
with WIN 98.
Well, I got everything configured-tested it all out and it worked fine. I
can ping each PC, OK.
Told my daughter her PC was all set. A few hours later, she tried it and the
computer made a liar out of me..
>From the second computer, I can ping the gateway computer. When I go to ping
Internet addresses, the MSDOS screen is blank for about 15 secs, one line of
text flashes real quick and the screen disappears.
Do I have to do anything with my dial up settings?
As I open Internet Explorer, I see in the status bar, it IS trying to
connect to the IP address of my gateway computer, but it comes up page
cannot be display.
Nothing was changed on the PC since I had it working, I restarted it, but
that had no effect.
Can any one give me an idea as to what I may have missed?
ICS won't work on my WIN 98 machine and I do not have the option to install
it on the other PC, I guess because SE was bundled on the recovery CD.
