How would they then make cdr and cdrw disks? A DVD drive cannot take the place of a
CDRW
drive....they of course cannot record data to a cdr or cdrw disk. Only recently there
are DVD RAM
drives, but these are rare, very expensive and are not compatible with CDR or CDRW
disks or CDRW
drives.

You don't need a CDR and a DVD, take out the CDR and put the DVD in its
place.
My primary and secondary controllers are currently full with 2 hard drives
(primary) a CDRom and a CD-R/RW (secondary). Now I need to add another
device, a DVD. What are my options to do this, can I add an extra controller
or must I remove one of the installed units?

Alan Priol.
