Peter,
This does NOT surprise me one bit.
Considering the MAJOR negotiations going on right now between AOL and M$
with regard to including all of AOLs software in the new WinXP coming
out in the fall, and including the sticky issue right now of making
AOL's instant messaging and MS's messaging software totally
interchangable, WHY would AOL even WANT Netscape to continue having
anything to do with producing browsers/email/newsgroup software again.
Funny, when AOL bought Netscape's personal division (Sun bought the
enterprise division), so many were talking AOL and MS totally splitting
up any business deals together, and AOL using Netscape as its base
browser product instead of MS's IE. Now it looks like the true colors
are FINALLY getting revealed of what the REAL intensions of AOL were to
begin with.
