Roadrunner will work fine with ICS. You need 2 NIC's in the machine
connected to the cable modem, if the cable modem is external. If the cable
modem is an internal then you don't need the second NIC. The machine
running ICS will have to be always on to allow Internet access for the other
machines. If a choice is offered I would not get a USB external(only)
modem, mine has both and I use the Ethernet port. It is true with multiple
IP's that you don't need ICS or a Router just a Hub or Switch the Switch
being the better choice of the two. Roadrunner's TOS (Terms Of Service)
does not allow networking more than one computer to be used, at the same
time, without paying the extra for additional IP's If you are going to go
with a Router I would recommend The Netgear RT 411 or RT311 if you already
have a Hub or Switch my RT311 has served me well with few problems.
