To Marlene ( and all list members who would be interested in this tip ) To use the checkmark as you type without having to go back and forth switching fonts / charactor / and back to font again, try this: open your Word program. drop down the Insert menu. select Symbol The Symbol window will open select the font you wish to use for checkmark like Marlett for example. then select the checkmark symbol. next, click the AutoCorrect button on the bottom row the AutoCorrect window will open You will find the checkmark in the blank "with:" window. type a macro you wish to use ie: (cm) in the replace window. and finally click the add button. the checkmark will be added to the list at the bottom. and click ok. You can repeat these steps for numerous types of symbols you want in the autocorrect feature which can save you time and hassle of doing it the hard way. Try it out ! open your word, type your letter as you normaly do, then type (cm). the checkmark will automatically be added ! do the same for any symbols you want as long as you can remember the macro combinations ( you can write it down on a stickynote and put it on your monitor as a reference ) ( since this newsletter uses the plain text, I will refer the checkmark symbol as * in this letter...) I typed the following in less than thirty seconds: Shopping List: * Bread * Butter * Mayonnaise copy your letter then paste it in your rich text mail or html program. ( you will lose the symbols if you use the plain text mail ) TimR [EMAIL PROTECTED] Ps To the person who wanted the happy face symbol, Word has this preinstalled in the autocorrect feature.
