Yes, put the hard drive(s) on the card and other components on the 
mobo.  The Promise Ultra cards support dos 5.x, win 3.x, win 95/98/Me, 
NT4/2000, and Novell 3.12/4.1.x/5.  If you have an ATA100 then the TX2 
model will boost performance of even SCSI drives.
