Hi Everyone!

This is probably the most "technical" question from me yet:

I am thinking about getting DSL for my internet connection instead of the
normal modem connection. Upon researching on the Bellsouth website, it says
I must have a USB port.

I didn't know if I have a USB port so I thought I would try to find it
without turning to you guys.

I fished around in system/device manager/Universal Serial Bus Controller and
found 2:
#1: Intel 82371AB/EB PCI to USB Universal Host Controller
#2: USB Root Hub

In the Hardware Version for #1, it indicates "001".

In the Hardware Version for #2 USB Root Hub , it says "properties show not
available"

My question is: What is this telling me? Do I or do I not have a USB port in
order to be able to install the DSL. Was I on the right track?

If I do not have a USB port, how do I go about getting it?

My other question is: If I follow the directions, how hard is it to install
the hardware and software for DSL? (I'd like to save the $200 professional
installation fee.)

I am using a Dell Inspiron 7000 laptop; Windows 98.

What is your verdict, guys?

And, always, thanks so much in advance for your help.

Cindy S.
