The discs should be physically connected by a special flexible link
(ask for "mirrolink" or similar at any good hardware shop). You will
also need a Philips screwdriver and a pair of screws made of copper.
Of course, you must copy the contents of the old disk onto the new
disk using binary transfer mode.

No. This will completely confuse the Raw Socket Layer and may
introduce permanent incompatibilities with other software.
