Thanks, I tried that program and it tells me USB is not functioning on
this computer. This has to be a software problem with Win98 as I am dual
booting Win 98 and Windows XP and the USB is functioning under XP. I can
list the error message that is given "NTKERN.VxD device loader for this
device could not load this device driver (code2)" this is a little vague
and does not really help pinpointing the solution. If all else fails, a
clean install may be in order.

Not a suggestion to get it working but you might try this program to see
what information is returned for the USB port. This utility tests for
USB
support on your system and also checks your computer's OS, hardware, and
drivers.
