I plan to purchase and install Windows XP as soon as it is available in
October. I have a Micron 600 PIII with 640 megs of memory. I plan to
purchase the upgrade version.....
My questions:
Does anyone know if you can do a clean install (after formatting the boot
drive) and just provide proof (like putting your Windows 98 disk in the CD
Rom when requested like you could with past upgrade Windows versions) with
the XP Upgrade?
I have no problem with backing up my personal files and reinstalling most of
the software I use. My main concern is the 200 or so of my CD's I have
copied to my D drive with Windows Media Player. I would hate to have to do
that again. Do you think if I leave D: untouched, that XP will find the
licensing information on D? Can I backup that information?
Any other suggestions or comments?
