Agreed, but that doesn't make Outlook any less a security
hazard, or void the recommendation that it be avoided if at
all possible.

Several computer publications recommend that people avoid
Outlook. In fact, there's an entire article in the November
issue of PC World magazine devoted to software security bugs
(predominantly Microsoft products).

Also, BugTraq, whose business it is to uncover and track
software that pose a security threat, listed 15 programs
along with the number of known security holes for each.
Outlook ranked 4th with 28 known security holes.

On the subject of antiv*rus software, someone here recently
asked about AV programs for Windows XP. To the best of my
knowledge, there are three AV programs currently available:

- AVG 6.0
- AntiVir
- Norton Antiv*rus 2002

AVG (www.grisoft.com) and AntiVir (www.free-av.com) are
both free for personal use.

Best regards,

Richard
