Larry,
    Windows 95 upgrade is version A.  Versions B&C were only offered as full
install disks.  You can make the full version of 'B' upgrade over version A
by renaming the file 'win.com' to say 'win.old' or something else and it
will let you upgrade the existing 'A' version to B or C.  However, the best
way to do this upgrade is to do a clean install of Win95 instead of
upgrading over an existing version.  (This has always been the case with any
of the Windows editions!)
