Thanks much to those who responded to my XP upgrade question. :) I
think I will hold off on that for now. I do have another problem. I will
spare you all the horrible details of my late night/early morning adventure.
:) The short of it is I upgraded the launch pad (on the All in Wonder 128
card). When I want to watch TV I get a warning that says: DMA not enabled.
Video Capture and TV on Demand performance will be degraded on this system
as DMA for the hard disk is not enabled. It then lists the disk: Generic
IDE Disk Type 47 C:. When I look it up it's the CD ROM drive. When I check
the DMA box I then get ANOTHER warning about not playing well with my
hardware or something. It has something to do with speed of the CD ROM?
Can someone tell me what this is? I can watch TV fine, but haven't tried to
capture any video next. That's what I was trying to do in the first place
when I got on the update-the-driver nightmare!! :) Can anyone shed some
light on this? Thanks so much...
