  A relative has reinstalled both Office XP and XP a number of times and

has had no difficulty with the activation process.  He did it over the
net 
each time hassle free.  HTH

After doing a System Restore, I had to call Microsoft to be able to
reactivate Windows XP (425)706-8080) , but I didn't have to do anything
special to reinstall Office XP.
