Keith, Thank you for this info - tried it this morning with Messager here at work, and set it to check every 5 minutes and it worked without any problem.
Now if you could help me with any issues that you might have run across with running Communicator/Messager. In the past I have read, especially on some of the newsgroups, that some people would have problems with Communicator bombing out during operation, and one of the issues that needed to be get checked with making sure the cache was emptied out. There were others but I am not sure right now what they were - could you help me, if possible, with other issues that need to be watched for with regard to Communicator and Messager 4.7x??? Also, do you do any work with newsgroups?? If you do, when you choice to view new messages in newsgroups, what exactly does Messenger do with regard to headers, and especially with displaying only unread messages??? I tried sometime ago in the past dealing with Communicator, and had problems dealing with email and newsgroup operations, and this one dealing with newsgroups was one that especially gave me problems trying to solve. With Netscape 3.04 Gold, this was never a problem, since when you go to display new messages in newsgroups, Netscape would just download and display automatically any new message headers in the upper right panel, without anything downloaded to my hard drive. Depending on what I end up dealing with, I might have to continue using Netscape for newsgroup operations rather than using Messager. Any help on these matter would be greatly appreciated. Ralph You didn't say what program you are using for email, but I know that my netscape polls the ISP every ten minutes to auto download. It does need to be running, but can be minimized while polling and drawing down. I do believe that there is the same function in Outlook/Outlook Express from what some of my other list members have mentioned.
