Peter,

The web address of the company is:

http://www.goldenhawk.com/

Unfortunately, it looks like the company is only producing products for the
Dos and Windows operating systems. But I wonder if you have looked at any
of the newsgroups, as well as doing searches in Google and similar, for Mac
software, since I think I remember over the years of seeing similar
products being advertised for Mac users.

Since the Mac has never had the same kind of issues as MS/PC Dos and
Windows/OS2 users have had to deal with, though the issues are different
and there none the less, such as problems running Mac software when a new
version of the OS was released (though that one seems almost a universal
problem no matter what system or OS you are using/running), you probably
should have NO problems, I would think, of finding recording software for
the Mac without much of any problem.

One thing I personally dont understand goes back to the very start of the
whole issue of CD-Rom manufacture with regard to Intel versus Motorola
based systems (Dos/Win/OS2 versus Mac for the simpliest case) - the
location for the directory info between the 2 is quite different it would
seem. So manufacturers of software for both type of systems, if the CD has
the software for both type of computers, have to encode the directory and
related info on 2 different tracks on the CD itself. So a Dos/Windows based
system would look automatically at one track for directory info while a Mac
based system would look automatically at another track for directory info.
Was this setup as a standard in the early days to differenciate between the
data between the 2 OSs, or something else???

Also, I am wondering WHAT does someone do if they want to produce a CD that
can be read by BOTH OSs - what kind of software does the person/company use
to product CDs used on both a Dos/Win based system and also for a Mac based
system???

Ralph

Ralph, does this utility also produce Mac formatted cd's?
