Harold, The issue revolves around MAJOR problems the list has had in the past with individuals posting all kinds of messages about v*ruses, w*rms, t*ojans, and other nasties. If you end up sending a message to the list with the regular word in your message, Marlene has set up the software for the list so she personally gets the message re-routed directly to her for her review.
One the problems that has occured in the past were messages getting posted about this or that alert, when it turns out that the alert was found later to really end up a hoax. So she has requested that no one post any alerts on this matter directly to the list but rather send them to her directly, so she can review the matter to see if it is really true or otherwise - if true, she will notify the list herself. The same has been true about other issues. The bottom line - if you have any questions about matters with regard to the list or things to post to the list or not, you can always write directly to her and get her policies about various subjects directly from her. There are VERY few subjects that are touchy in her book, but there are a couple, and the above is one of the few. Another is including the text message found at the bottom of every message posted in a reply message - I can guarentee you, the message will NOT get posted if that is found. It list a web site to go to to find policies and information about list operations. Personally, she is one of the BEST list owners I have ever seen. Hopefully, this helps. Ralph Hi ...
