When you need to know what a file does or what a file is,
always do a 'find' for it on your PC then right click the
file and look at 'properties'.
"Windows 32-bit VxD Message Server"
Run the system file checker (SFC) and it should tell you if
it's corrupt. If it is though, you'll have to find where the
file came from if you cannot find it on the ME CD. It's
properties will tell you the exact version, then I guess
you'd have to look at MS' website to find that version to
restore it, (if it shows corrupt via the SFC). The SFC will
'usually' know where to restore it FROM, but not always.
It's not on the win98 CD either, but that doesn't always mean
it's really not there (I have found). It could be within a
.cab file. Go to the windows support site and search for it,
there's a lot of info on it.

Subject: PCWorks: Msgsrv32 file

Could somebody please help me with a small problem. Whenever
I start-up my
computer,( PIII 600 running Win ME.) After a short while the
system hangs, I
press "Ctrl Alt Del" and the "MSGSRV32" file is not
responding.. When I do
end task the system runs ok again.
Question what does this application actually do. Could the
file be corrupt,
if so how do I replace it. I looked on my ME CD but could
not find it.
Thank you in advance
Meir
