If you are using Word 2000 then MS has a converter pack for you.
It will convert Lotus AmiPro 3.x (.SAM files) to Windows
http://office.microsoft.com/downloads/2000/convpack.aspx

Also available for Office97 users.

There is also a converter pack for Office 2002/XP but the description
doesn't indicate if it has the same type of converters.
