Larry, open a DOS window and at the command prompt type in ping 127.0.0.1 If the address is unreachable then TCP/IP is improperly installed and will have to be reinstalled. See this MS page for help http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q169790. HTH
