I downloaded the patch and checked it with EzTrust. The file was 243450USA8.EXE for the complete update. Nothing was found in this one. If the email you received has an attachment, this is reported to be a vir*s attachment. I don't think that MS will send emails with attachments, you have to go to the MS site and download any repairs. There is an update from MS that will fix a number of problems and it is a cumulative, but the notice does not carry the patch as an attachment.
