Just delete them. You should get in the habit of doing so
about weekly. With that many files, no telling how much
addware and spyware cookies are in those folders! (BTW, you
can only see these from within explorer, just opening the
windows folder and opening the temp net files will not show
them). Those oddball folder names will be recreated again
periodically as IE needs them. I delete ALL of mine every
few days. They must manually be removed from explorer as
described above, you cannot remove ALL of the cache and
cookies by "delete temporary internet files" from 'tools' and
'internet options'.

Subject: PCWorks: temp internet files question

Hi,

Does anyone know about the folder under temporary internet
named Content
IE5? What it is and does.

There are 4 folders under it, ex. one has the name 674vOn2v.
In it are like
3000 items. There are 2000 or more in each one of these
folders.

I do not know where these files come from and if it is okay
to just delete
the folders. Is there a way to keep these files from going
there and are
they necessary to use the internet.

When I delete anything the computer wants to lock up and have
to restart.
And it takes a long time to send these to the recyle bin.

I hope I am not asking a real silly question here but it
seems these files
do not need to be there. Thanks for any input here.

Sandy
