Peter, I was inquiring about this problem that a friend had forwarded
to me and I had never heard of the "operation 7" error problem either,
and just thought someone one out there might be able to help.

Ed, if you are in the middle of composing a new message or viewing a
message then when the system hangs the inbox file may become corrupted
and/or disappear.
As for the "operation 7" error, I am at a loss. Have you reinstalled your
OS again?
