After installing Outpost (Agnitum) and made sure that the latest updates were installed, I've been able to run all Internet applications using the default rules (time synchronizer, reference updater for Adaware, several mail clients, news readers, and browsers).
Re AV programs, I have no problem running the updater for the Grisoft AV program. OTOH I've been unsuccessful in getting Live Update for Norton AV (NAV 2001) to run using the either the default Download Manager setting or designating it as a Trusted Application.
