3rd attempt in an hour to get that below posted. It never was. I did some searching and finally found out one must boot from a #$%@ floppy to get to the command prompt, I was able to restore the registry like that. Now, there has got to be an easier way to simply boot to the command prompt w/o having to use a floppy, is there a key LIKE F5 or F8 that works in ME? Also, how is one supposed to go to a DOS prompt in ME???? ??????? The info I saw on this states "MSDOS prompt" SHOULD be in the start menu just like 98, but it is gone on this PC! So, how is one supposed to get it back? I found a file called mfddme13.zip that is supposed to give DOS back to ME, but I don't trust it. Can anyone vouch for it? I'm afraid it may screw something up. --------------------------- Could someone possibly tell me how the heck you're supposed to go into safe mode, or get to the command prompt in windows ME? F5 and F8 no longer works. I cannot restore a registry backup any other way. I tried to 'import' from regedit, and it did it, but didn't 'take' for some reason. Old registry is still there.
