Please let us know what you find out on this Barry. I use
the Pro version, but have not installed IE6 SP1 yet (and for
just for the reasons that happened to you). I just exe'd
mine and see there is an update. If you have the auto update
disabled (and you should) check it and see if there is an
update for yours, that may help.

I've had problems getting def. updates for Norton for several
months now, even with no software firewall running. I'm
trying now to check for new def. updates, and it's not doing
it with Outpost running, I exited it, and STILL cannot check
for new updates.

(If you are on DSL or cable, you can get a router with a
hardware firewall and won't need a software firewall
anymore).

Hello Listers! I abandoned the use of ZoneAlarm about 6
months ago or so
in favor of the "open source" Agnitum's Outpost. Up until
yesterday it
has not given me a moments trouble. but ever since I
upgraded my IE6 to
SP1 I have been having problems galore. I just discovered
tonight that the
source of all my problems in web browsing and obtaining email
was from the
Outpost.

I have attempted to reconfigure it and it is no use. With
Windows 98SE it
always had a problem getting to NAV's LiveUpdate and had to
shut it down
temporarily. But on Windows 2000 no problems whatsoever
until last night

Anyone have a similar problem or have any ideas as to how to
correct the
problem?

Thank you!
