I have a new printer HP deskjet 845c but my computer has not USB port. So I buyed " USB 2.0 PCI Host Adoptor" with chipset "Via VT6202 PCI USB 2.0 4-Port Host Controller". I have pluged card in computer, installed USB driver with no error ocured. But when I tryed to instal printers driver from floppy I have received with printer it reported that it can not locate printer. There was comment that bios could be not set properly so I check it. USB support was really disabled so I changed this to "ENABLE". After that I uninstalled drivers ( USB and Printer driver) and tryed all again. But result was the same. Printer can not be located. By the way: I tryed to connect printer to all 4 port on card - same result. Can You tell me where can by error - and how to fix it? Thanks Juraj Fedel
PS: I tought This is because I hve old computer (AMD K5 PR133) - but there is support in bios for USB. Maybe the problem is that card is compliant to USB Specification Revision 2.0?
