Hi ,
Have a weird problem with 2 computers I'm building for a client.
MSI 845E motherboard, Pentium 1.8 + 256MB DDR. Using Innovation
GeForce4 440 64MB screen card. All works fine until I install Office 2000. Then halfway through loading I get a black screen. Windows continues to load but screen is black. If I switch to a GeForce2 400 all is well. This happens on both computers so its not the card. I've downloaded the latest driver and its not that. I've tried my version of Office 97 and the same thing happens. Anyone any ideas, I'm fresh out!!
Thanks
Bram

Which version of windows are you using? Are the drivers from MS or from the vendor? Is there any conflict issues between the video card and any other card in the system?

Are you running the typical install or the custom, this occurs sometimes with the typical install.

Can you copy the contents of the Office cd to the hard drive and install from there?

Disable any non critical applications running in the background before installing especially anti v***s and firewalls.
