FrontPage has three tabs at the bottom of every page you work on. One says "Normal" which allows you to work in wysiwyg. One says "Preview" which allows you to see how it will look and behave when it's on the internet and the third says "HTML" where you have access to all of the html code in your page and you can edit it just like you would in notepad...no difference at all.
I have a friend Kathleen Anderson, who's a FrontPage MVP and a web designer for the state of Connecticut where all of her pages MUST meet the current accessibility standards and pass all of the tests...she's also a member of all the organizations/consortiums that conduct all the tests...she does everything in FrontPage (and she certainly knows html) and has no problems. Most of the people who say that FP can't pass these tests are people who either have never used it or have only looked at sites like mine (I'm not a web designer....don't worry, I will never hire myself out to do this either...LOL) OR just plain don't like Microsoft. Actually, FrontPage has taught me a lot about html. If I can't figure out how to write the code, I just do what I need to do thru the wysiwyg part, then flip over to the html view and see what the code looks like. FrontPage also allows you to turn on all of your html tags within the wysiwyg view so you can see them all when you are trying to troubleshoot any part of your page. And, sorry for seeing what you said as "bashing"...didn't mean to hurt your feelings...but statements like "FrontPage adds gobs of html errors" is misleading...it's the USERS who add the errors...not FrontPage, as is the case with most software. And I will bow out of this discussion now....no harm meant ;-) Linda Publisher ~ ABC ~ All 'Bout Computers Owner ~ Linda's Computer Stop http://personal-computer-tutor.com FREE MS Office eBook Tutorial http://personal-computer-tutor.com/library.htm -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, January 23, 2003 1:06 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: PCWorks: Trouble with Web uploads ???? No one is "bashing" anything, that was uncalled for. This is a list to give opinions and options to help others with their problems, is it not? I hear all the time at HTML lists I belong to; to stay away from WYSIWYG editors (esp. FPX) since they induce errors in HTML code. If you run some page created with FPX though a validator, you'll see all the errors. Hence the information to HELP Larry. If FP2000 is better, then good. Since this is not an HTML design list, I did not want to get into details. ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
