Yes, cable would slow down a bit, and you probably won't even
see a difference with DSL.  You'd do it just as you do now,
except with a router w/8 ports...assuming you have an external
Ethernet modem, I can't recall what you currently use.

I have the phone line going in to my ext. Ethernet DSL modem;
the RJ45/CAT5 cable from it going to the rear of my gateway
router; and the ports on the front of the router going to the
NIC in each PC with an RJ45 cable.
