For a quick fix, you might do a search on google and try one of the many demo versions of some available password recovery programs. Many will only show you the first two or three letters in the demo version, but that may be all you need to remind you.
The second method, I can't help you with much information right now, but I once ran across some site that offered instructions for using a hexadecimal editor to basically change "turn the password off". Just change a few numbers to the ones they mentioned, and it opens with no problems. I'll try to find the program and web site again tonight and pass it on.
