OH, NOW I see why! No wonder....you're getting the digest version, you never mentioned that before. I of course understand now why you have to paste the subject line in. Yes, you'll have to keep doing that, you can still just click 'reply', and I'd just prefix the subject line with an "Re:" so all will know it's a reply to a post, then just highlight and delete all of the other non-applicable posts in the digest. You don't need to type "new subject name" because a new subject is already implied by it's presence, and the "was......" being added after it.
If I understand you correctly about the spacing; it appears you don't have your text wrap set correctly. It appears to be set to too many characters (mine is set to 62 in OE). But this also depends on the size of the preview pane one has set. It can be dragged horizontally left or right. If it's too small, even with text wrap set small you'll still get the odd spaced lines. If you drag your 'separator bar' (I don't know what else to call it) left or right, you'll see different sentence structure. They way you see email is not always the way others see it.
