Well....yes that's one way of fixing it, but also renders the history
folder useless after the current day!  Can't have that happen. :-)  I just
tried that temporarily and it deleted the history I DID need, but keep the
"today" folder.  Oh well, now I might as well "clear history" since what I
needed is gone.

Try going to Tools, Internet Options and on the general tab, set the
history to 0 and the settings on Temporary internet files
to minimum. This takes out the source for restoring the histories, etc.
