Hello again, DLL emergency is off. I got the all-clear signal upon re-booting; no messages, no warnings, "no nothing" ... just a over-crowded desktop.
What I did was download both files, msi.dll and fm20.dll, moved them to the System directory and all is well. My steps might have had nothing to do with the cure (that happens in the medical world too). What I would like to know why that msi.dll.222 file has that added extension "222", I couldn't find any msi.dll file with that double extension. ORIGINAL PROBLEM ... Windows98 ... This is the warning I'm getting upon re-booting the computer: "The MSIEXEC.EXE file is linked to missing export MSI.DLL.222" Not sure if it is related but then upon running System File Checker to repair the above (if that's the way to do it), I'm told "fm20.dll" may be corrupted. Continuing with SFC, I tried to restore "fm20.dll" from Cabs and was told it is not there Just when everything is working out all right, almost perfect, wouldn'tcha know it (although everything else seems to be working fine). What do these messages mean? What should i do? ... Harold ============= PCWorks Mailing List ================= Don't see your post?
