Someone like me?? EVERYONE is victimized by it, even the webhosts and
ISP's that are responsible for it and condone it (i.e. Cogentco, VDI,
Internap, Verio and most S. American and As-ian ISP's/hosts), in the long
run will be victimized by it as well. It's ALREADY reached that point you
describe and BEYOND. UCE costs (the few decent ISP's) (B)Billions of $
each year, not to mention what it's costs victims like me in downtime,
wasted time, health damages, etc, etc, etc. A few weeks ago it SURPASSED
the 50% mark of ALL email sent! The only thing you can do about it is take
the law into your own hands, since no one else will do anything about it.
Some poor victimized soul that has HAD IT and "breaks" is going to have to
be the sacrificial whipping boy by the Gov't, but he or she will be
heralded for all time as being the hero that brought the UCE issue to full
light. (You know, like for example the black lady Rosa Parks on the bus in
the 60's: she went through h*ll with the cops & Gov't for what she did, yet
today she's a hero for her actions). The FTC and FCC have gotten involved
WAAAAAAY too late, and as far as their input, it's too little too late.
There are numerous class-action lawsuits against several ISP's and hosts
and I can't wait to jump on that bandwagon when I can find more info on it.
One was on CNN a few weeks ago, but I haven't been able to locate the head
lawyer for that suit.

There are new Bills which have recently became laws (or will in a few days)
regarding UCE and maybe we can start putting some of these parasites
UNDERNEATH the jail where they belong....or better, torture. Just go to
any major news website (CNN, FOX, MSNBC, etc) and search for SPAM, UCE,
spamming, etc. for their on-site search and you will be horrified at what
you see. This is only one of thousands of links on the web you can find,
and this was from months ago; things have gotten worse since then.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A17754-2003Mar12 It's all
wonderful the 'powers that be' are FINALLY seeing this unrelenting
ever-escalating problem for what it is: "CYBER-TERRORISM", but again, I
fear it's way too little too late. The proverbial genie has been let out
of bottle again. I could go on for months about this topic, but suffice to
say, I'm all for a death penalty for spammers, and I'd "pull the switch"!
LOL!

Everyone is ecstatic about the new "do not call" law* (as of yesterday) for
the telephone parasite version of UCE, WHY there is not one yet for UCE is
beyond my comprehension.

BTW, I don't think it's a good idea to get into a UCE discussion here at
this list since I'm SURE it's monitored and even subscribed to by scum
spammers, and we DO NOT want to even inadvertently give them anymore ideas
on how to attack us. However, any ideas on how to get back at them I'm
sure would be appreciated by all...except for them! ;-) Ben here at the
list had some really fascinating links he sent me once on what some have
done to get back at them, but I can't find them right now.

Well, if someone like you is also victimized by all the
[EMAIL PROTECTED]'s and the myriad other variations,
then I
best keep quiet and take it on the chin. I can see email eventually
reaching a
point where it will collapse by its own weight; it's only my opinion ...

Btw, the "Unable to start WAV sound." corrected itself. Must have needed a
reboot.
