hi...a friend of mine recently had a new hard drive installed with win xp home
edition...last night while working on a the computer i installed a screen saver and
discovered the background sound was not playing...upon further investigation i found
that the puter wouldn't play any mp3 files with either windows media player or another
program... we updated the media player to version 9...but to no avail...media player
gave the following error message >>>
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The file is either corrupt or the Player
does not support the format you are trying to play."....and the following also showed
>>>>
Error ID = 0xC00D1199, Condition ID = 0x00000000 ... my friend assured me that she
could play mp3's after the new hard drive was installed ... does anyone know what
would cause this problem or how to solve the problem .... thanks... Gary.
