Clint, I have a Linux system where I occasionally have had windows infections get in the email, P2P, and IM services and have passed them along unwittingly. But then again I hear the same thing from Mac users too.
Perhaps the software vendors should be more persistent in rooting out vulnerabilities and informing the public of them more directly, rather than something to the order of "well, we posted a notice of the problem on page so and so in such and such section which you can get to once you register for some email advertising ...".

If I had to guess I'd say many networks are probably crashed due to "SOBIG" or people are busy (like we are) trying to cope with it.
This worm is killing us. We have received over 1000 messages in 3 days. The majority of them is thanks to some anencephalic jerk at TDS.net 216.170.135.219 that IS infected, and is sending the worm out **WITH OUR EMAIL ADDRESSES in the "From" line**!!! The bulk of the messages we have received are complaints from morons that think WE are really sending them, and bounced messages from the worm sending itself to fake addresses (and again with our email addresses in the "From" line) they of course are bounced back to us!! If we received that many that are only bounced, that means that MILLIONS of GOOD addresses are getting the worm appearing to be from US!!
There should be jail time and STIFF FINES for anyone that gets infected with a virus or worm & passes it along. There is NO EXCUSE for it. And the one responsible for this one should get the death penalty. -Clint
