Hi All. Well, the tower came today.. about 2:30.. But when I connected it.. I turned it on. and heard about 6-8 beep-beep-beep's.. so I disconnected everything, and hooked it up again.. STILL.. those darn beeps..
So.. of couse, I had to call tech support.. AND, was told.. Oh, sometimes, the "memory boards"(or whatever they're called).. get shifted in transit.. SO, I had to open the tower..YES, I really did. and take them out. and then - re-insert them.. and then all was well.. WHEW... I HATE COMPUTERS.. LOL This was a first for me..Opening the tower.. Whew.. I'm glad that I did though, cause it's one more thing.. I've "learned".. Not that I wanted too.. Mind you... LOL Then I installed and registered the McAfee(they give you that for a year). Then installed all updates and ran the vir** scan. Then I installed ONLY the windows critical updates. Then I installed and ran.. Ad-aware and Spy Bot.. Which picked up something called Alexa? or something and a few other things. and they got deleted.. Installed my favorites.. address book.. and my pics(that I had on CD).. And now. in the process of installing Adobe Acrobat Reader... So, all in all.. I"m almost done.. I think..LOL Oh, had to change various settings. .Went to Windows classic once again. and a few other settings. that you guys and gals have told me about.. So I did all that.... and now.. I'm only at 19% done. with the download for Adobe... Darn, I'll be here all nite. Anyway, thanks for everyones help.. and support thru this "Dell Saga"..
